After they panic, a lot of actors focus on memorizing their lines, saying them over and over.
They forget or rush through the script analysis - missing the clues that tell them what casting wants.
They listen to their anxious, uninformed instincts and afterwards think, “If I’d just had more time.”
But for most actors - none of that works. Why?
Just practicing lines doesn’t get you in character.
